Exploring the sweet world of Ziad Wehbe!

From chocolates to catering, meet the pioneer in Qatar’s F&B concepts:

It is hard to find a name that shines more brilliantly in the Qatari food and beverage scene than Ziad Wehbe. Over the past decade, Ziad has managed catering, chocolate, and pastry concepts across the GCC. In his exclusive interview with “Bisht” magazine, Ziad shares with us his inspiring story and his exciting new project on the horizon.

1.    Could you introduce yourself and tell us about your journey in the F&B business?

Greetings. I am Ziad Wehbe, and I have been a part of the GCC region's dynamic food and beverage landscape for almost a decade. During this time, I have gathered a vast amount of culinary knowledge, from traditional recipes to the latest culinary techniques, particularly in chocolate and pastries.

My expertise lies in managing local food ventures with a focus on catering, artisan chocolates, and exquisite pastries. My primary focus is catering to discerning local clients, collaborating seamlessly with wedding planners to create unforgettable wedding experiences through our decadent chocolates and pastries. Throughout my career, I have been privileged to cater to esteemed clients and royal patrons throughout the GCC, ensuring that each celebration is adorned with the finest chocolates and pastries.

2.    It sounds like a very successful journey. Are you involved in consultancy as well?

Consultancy in the food industry is more than just a business; it is a passion affair for sweetness and baked treats. Through different consultancy projects, I have translated many ideas into reality. Over the course of my career, I have championed the principles of responsible sourcing, mindful consumption, and culinary creativity. I go beyond offering advice; for example, I conceptualize new restaurants and bars; I craft food and beverage products, including recipes, packaging, and branding; I expand existing food companies; I create and implement marketing strategies to promote food and beverage products or services; and I ensure compliance with food safety regulations and quality standards. In short, I create a brand that is not just a name, but a story that my audience can relate to and become a part of.

3.    Could you share more details about this upcoming project?

My upcoming project will center around chocolates, luxury, and pastries. The new shop is strategically located in the heart of West Walk in Doha. I have a unique opportunity to curate something authentically mirrors my identity despite the area's successful food and beverage shops. Every element of this endeavor will convey my unwavering passion for the craft, from innovative chocolate concepts and enticing packaging designs to unique flavor profiles and captivating aromas. I intend to make this business venture a true reflection of my vision, from the ground up. My many years of industry experience, coupled with my boundless creativity, fully motivated me to bring this project to life.

4.    You have certainly made a mark in Qatar's F&B scene. How many years have you been doing business in Qatar, and what are your future plans within the GCC?

Your acknowledgment is greatly appreciated. For the past six years, I have been involved in Qatar's booming food and beverage scene, contributing to various culinary ventures and concepts. My future plans for the GCC include expanding my footprint across the region while staying innovative and elevating the dining experience I offer.  Among these plans are exploring new growth opportunities, diversifying my portfolio, and establishing myself as a trusted name in the GCC's F&B industry.

As a final note, I believe the most important thing is to keep your promises. The Qatari market is saturated with claims of 'highest quality' and 'best taste,' and those who can deliver consistently rise to the top. Overall, brands are built on the pillars of authenticity, quality control, and customer satisfaction.
