Whether you’re looking to experience the deep-rooted customs of Ramadan, indulge in nostalgic flavors, or simply soak in the vibrant atmosphere, the port’s month-long festivities promise something special for everyone.

From the Ramadan Cannon to the return of the beloved Throwback Food Festival, Musahar Al Mina’s nightly strolls, and the ever-magical Garangao Night, Old Doha Port is bringing back its most cherished traditions, alongside a few exciting surprises.

 

1.      Ramadan Cannon

A powerful symbol of Ramadan, the Ramadan Cannon will mark the breaking of the fast each evening. Visitors can gather to experience this historic tradition, a moment that has united communities for generations. The cannon will fire just before Maghrib prayer at Mina Park across the Containers Year

Location: Mina Park across the Containers Yard

Date: Daily throughout Ramadan

 

2.      Throwback Food Festival

The Throwback Food Festival, in partnership with Visit Qatar, returns to Old Doha Port, bringing a selection of local restaurants and cafes, such as Hargeisa, Omar AlKhayam, and Shujaa, together to offer nostalgic Ramadan flavors. Guests can rediscover traditional dishes, long-loved sweets, and flavors from the past in a setting that blends heritage with contemporary dining. The festival will run throughout Ramadan, offering visitors a unique culinary experience.

3.      Musahar Al Mina

As the night falls, the Musahar Al Mina will walk through Old Doha Port to remind port visitors of  Suhoor. This cherished Ramadan tradition will be revived daily, with the Musahar dressed in traditional attire, bringing an authentic touch to the Ramadan nights at the port.

4.      Old Doha Port Ekbes Beach Volleyball Championship

Old Doha Port is the main sponsor and host of the 3rd edition of the Ekbes Beach Volleyball Championship, reinforcing its role as a key supporter of sports and cultural events in Qatar. Taking place during Ramadan, the championship will bring together top teams for an exciting competition on the beachside in the activities area of the port.

Date: March 6-March 14

Time: 8:00-10:30 PM

 

5.      Garangao Night

A highlight of Ramadan for families, Garangao Night at Old Doha Port will be family-friendly and filled with celebrations and cultural activities. Children will take part in the beloved tradition of collecting sweets while visitors enjoy live performances and an evening of festivities that honor Qatari heritage.

6.      Dinner in the Sky

Experience Iftar or Suhoor like never before with Dinner in the Sky, an exclusive dining adventure that suspends guests 50 meters above the ground, offering breathtaking views of Doha’s skyline. This one-of-a-kind culinary experience will feature a gourmet menu crafted by top chefs, blending luxury dining with an unforgettable atmosphere.

7.      Wada’a Ramadan

As Ramadan draws to a close, Old Doha Port revives Wada’a Ramadan, a four-night event. The farewell celebration will include traditional performances to mark the end of the holy month.

Time: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
